The 8th Convocation Ceremony of Perak College of Technology

20 years Of Excellence in Ipoh

18 March 2017, Ipoh – The 8th Convocation ceremony of Perak Institute of Technology (ITP) & Perak College of Technology (KTP) was held at Impiana Hotel, Ipoh - 8.30 am on Saturday, March 18th, 2017. The ceremony was to honour graduates from across all academic and non-academic (vocational) courses offered by the institution.

Established for nearly 20 years now, the institution is located strategically in Greentown Business Centre, city of Ipoh is well equipped with modern facilities and conducive study environment offering students with a good learning experience. 

Well known for its Hospitality courses, Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia courses and UTM (University Technology Malaysia) as well as UiTM (University Technology Mara) collaboration courses in the northern region of the country, the college will be hosting a total of 998 graduating students for this years’ ceremony. A total of 718 students will be graduating from Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia courses, 219 students from various Diploma courses offered through collaboration UTM & UiTM and 61 Diploma students from the home grown courses offered by the college. The college previously hosted 734 graduating students during the 7th Annual Convocation ceremony.

Graduates will have the opportunity to be recognized for their achievements in front of our honourable guests, lecturers, media, classmates, and family members, many of whom have travelled from their faraway home states to attend this exciting event.

The 8th Convocation ceremony will be officiated by Y.T.M. Raja Dato' Seri Eleena Binti Almarhum Sultan Azlan Muhibbuddin Shah Al-Maghfur-Lah., Chairperson, Perak College of Technology. The event had 2 sessions throughout the day; session 1 at 8.30am till 12.30pm followed by the afternoon session at 2.00pm till 5.30pm.

“We are so proud of what our students have accomplished, and we are confident that the skills and education they obtained at Perak College of Technology has given them the foundation they need to be successful in their career and in life,” said Dr. Ahmat Zamri Bin Abdullah, the CEO. “Our graduates are great examples of academic achievement in our community; this is their day to be recognized for their hard work and determination and we wish them all the best”.

“Maintaining good relationship with the lecturers who are very helpful has greatly assisted me in my success today. My best memory of KTP as a student was my participation in cultural activities apart from academic related activity that has opened my mind as a Malaysian and be thankful for the abundance of cultural diversity that we have here especially in Ipoh” said Seow Si Xiang – graduate in Diploma in Computer Science with a CGPA of 3.91.
