DIPLOMA IN HOTEL MANAGEMENT

Introduction

Diploma in Hotel Management program is designed to provide students with the professional practices associated with the administration of hotels, resort and other accommodation establishments. A professional in Hotel Management is primarily responsible for the administration of the hospitality establishment and the customer’s overall experience. This study covers area such as reservation, housekeeping, food service as well as business management.  A field work placement is also available where students benefit from experiential learning and networking with industry representatives.

Admission Requirements (Minimum Qualification)

  • Pass SPM / SPMV or equivalent which is recognised by Malaysian Government.
  • Three (3) credits at SPM/SPMV level and a pass in Bahasa Melayu.

Core Subjects

Introduction to Hospitality and Tourism Industry, Theory of Food, Food Hygiene and Sanitation, Food and Beverage Service Skills, Fundamentals of Pastry and Bakery, Western Cuisine, Event Management, Front Office Management, Hospitality and Tourism Law, House Keeping Management, Facilities Management and Industrial Training.

Graduates have wide opportunities to work at local and worldwide tourism industry due to the upcoming hotels and resorts in different rating. They are trained to cope with the demand of the hospitality and tourism sector such as front office officers, executive housekeepers, golf clubs officers, theme parks crew, airlines and hotels.
