MALAYSIAN SKILLS CERTIFICATE IN FOOD & BEVERAGE SERVICE OPERATION (HT-010-2: 2012 & HT-010-3:2012)
•  Food & Beverage Service Operation (Captain) - Level 2
•  Food & Beverage Service Operation (Supervisor) - Level 3

Introduction

LEVEL 2 : A Food and Beverage Captain is designated to supervise a team of service staff comprising of waiters/ waitresses in providing food and beverages to guests in accordance with prescribe standards.

LEVEL 3 : A Food and Beverage Supervisor is designated to monitor and manage teams of service staff comprising of waiters/waitresses in providing food and beverages to guests in accordance with prescribe standards.

Admission Requirements (Minimum Qualification)

  • 15-45 years old
  • Able to speak and write in Malay or English
  • Posses a lower level of MSC to apply for a higher level MSC in the same field / area.
  • (Level 2) PMR/SPM/SPMV school leaver
  • (Level 3) Completed Levels 2 (HT-010-2:2012)

Duties
Introduction to Food & Beverage Operation, Bars & Service of Beverages, Restaurant Service, Wine & Wine Service, Function Service, Customer Care, Menu Knowledge, Food & Beverage Cost Control, Food & Beverage Service Practical, and English for Food & Beverage Service.

Duration

1 ½ years (Level 2: 6 months)
(Level 3: 12 months)


Career Opportunities
The specific responsibilities of most service staff are determined by a number of factors, including the type of restaurant in which they work.

Service staff, for example, may work in the dining area of schools, cafeterias, businesses, hospitals and other instituitions.
